Play videos from your Dropbox or Box
A Cloud drive source is your own Dropbox or Box, browsed as folders and played like a share. Yonto Player provides no content: it plays the videos you have put in your own account.
Add one
Section titled “Add one”- Choose Add source, then Dropbox or Box under Cloud drives.
- On a TV, Yonto Player shows a QR code under “Sign in to Dropbox on your phone”. Scan it with your phone’s camera and sign in there.
- On a phone or tablet, and on the iPhone and iPad app, which is not out yet, you sign in in the system browser and come back to Yonto Player.
- Save the source, then open Browse to walk its folders and press a video to play it.
The code the drive gives back is exchanged by the device that asked, so no sign-in token passes through your phone or through the setup relay. A TV sign-in left unfinished stops with “That took too long, so the sign-in stopped and nothing was kept” and Try again. On the web there is no Cloud drive source.
How it counts
Section titled “How it counts”A cloud drive is a source like any other. Free has one source of your own, so with one already, adding a drive asks for Pro or the 7-day trial; the sources you have stay. It is not a separate allowance, and playing from a drive costs nothing else.
What it does not do
Section titled “What it does not do”- A drive source has no Test connection: signing in is the proof.
- Videos are played as they are stored, so which video files play applies, and a drive’s files can be cast (Cast to a Chromecast, an AirPlay screen or a DLNA TV).
- Dropbox and Box are the drives to start with; the form lists a few more for Chinese-speaking viewers.
Sources lists every kind of source. Dropbox and Box are trademarks of their owners, and Yonto Player is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
