Is there Infuse for Android TV?
No: Infuse is made for Apple devices only, but on an Android TV, a Google TV box or an Android phone or tablet, Yonto Player plays the same kinds of library: your Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server, video files on a NAS or a USB drive, and your own Dropbox or Box. Casting to a Chromecast or an AirPlay screen, and DTS and TrueHD sound decoded on Android, are in its free app, where Infuse lists casting and lossless audio under Infuse Pro.
Infuse’s maker, Firecore, lists it for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, and not for Android.
What Yonto Player plays
Section titled “What Yonto Player plays”- Plex, Jellyfin and Emby servers. Your film and TV series libraries, with the posters, descriptions and episodes your server holds. Play your Plex library on Android TV in another app and Play your Jellyfin library on Android TV in another app say what shows from each.
- Video files on a NAS, over SMB or WebDAV, with no media server in between (Play video files from a NAS or USB drive on Android TV).
- Your own Dropbox or Box, as a Cloud drive source: your folders and the videos in them. On a TV, you sign in on your phone, from a QR code, instead of typing a password with the remote.
- A USB drive or the device’s own storage, as Folder on this device.
All of these are in the Android TV app and in the Android phone and tablet app. On a TV, Set up from your phone shows a QR code, so you type the address and password on your phone instead of with the remote (Sources).
What matches Infuse
Section titled “What matches Infuse”These are what an Infuse user tends to check first, and they work in Yonto Player too.
- Your server’s watched marks and resume points. From Plex, Jellyfin and Emby, a title you watched in another app shows as watched, and Resume picks up where the server has you. When this device and the server disagree, the newer one wins.
- Your server hears what you watch. For Jellyfin and Emby, Yonto Player tells the server where you stopped and what you finished; for Plex, it marks what you finished as watched. To mark a title yourself, hold OK on an episode, or on Play for a film, on a TV, or touch and hold on a phone or tablet, and the server is told that too. Telling the server is on for every Plex, Jellyfin and Emby source, and Tell the server what I watch in the source’s editor turns it off, for when you want the official app left as it is.
- Subtitle files, from the server and beside a video. On Android, the subtitle files your server keeps and a
Movie.srtbesideMovie.mkvon a share are offered with the file’s own subtitles (below).
Sound, picture and subtitles
Section titled “Sound, picture and subtitles”- DTS, TrueHD and Dolby sound. Yonto Player plays the sound as the file stores it, through your device’s own decoders. When the device has no decoder for AC3, E-AC-3, DTS or TrueHD sound, Yonto Player decodes it itself, DTS-HD included (DTS, TrueHD and Dolby audio on Android TV).
- 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision depend on your device. A Jellyfin, Plex or Emby server converts what the device cannot play, tone-mapping HDR for a screen without it when its own tone mapping is on, which Emby has only with Emby Premiere and Plex only with Plex Pass; otherwise a converted HDR file keeps its colours as they are, and on Emby or Plex one that needs no other converting plays as stored (Sources says which files play).
- Subtitles inside the video file, and subtitle files beside it. A
Movie.srtorMovie.en.srtbesideMovie.mkvon an SMB or WebDAV share or, on an Android phone or tablet, in a folder on the device, and on Android the subtitle files a Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server keeps beside a video, are offered with the file’s own subtitles, in UTF-8, GBK, Big5 or Windows-1252. On a TV, choose Subtitles in the player’s controls; on a phone or tablet, the subtitles button at the top of the player opens Audio and subtitles. A file with more than one sound track offers Audio in the same places.
What it costs
Section titled “What it costs”Infuse users are used to paying for a player, so here is the whole of it. Free is the whole player with one source of your own, such as your Plex server or one NAS share. Pro adds as many sources as you like, installing plugins, downloads to watch offline on a phone or tablet, and Sync of your history, Watch list and sources across your devices. On our website it is US$7.47 instead of US$14.95 while the offer runs, until December 31, 2026, one payment, not a subscription, and one licence works on up to 5 devices at a time. Casting and every format Yonto Player plays are in Free; Firecore lists Infuse Pro at US$16.99 a year or US$99.99 once (read on its site on 27 October 2026). In the app on Android TV and Android phones and tablets, you can try Pro free for 7 days, once per device, with no payment details, and it ends on its own. Yonto Pro says how to buy it and turn it on.
What it does not do that you may use in Infuse
Section titled “What it does not do that you may use in Infuse”- No episode details for your own files yet. A NAS share, a cloud drive, a USB drive or a folder becomes a library of films and series grouped from file names, with seasons and episodes. It shows the posters and
.nfodescriptions you keep beside the videos, named the Kodi way, and looks up online what they leave out for each film and series, but episodes have no titles, pictures or descriptions from it yet. Posters, descriptions and episodes for a server come from your Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server. - No Trakt, and no history shared between devices. Yonto Player does not connect to Trakt, and nothing joins your devices’ History. Continue playing adds your server’s own continue-watching list, and History is kept on each device (History on your TV and phone).
- No subtitle downloads. Yonto Player does not fetch subtitles from the internet. A subtitle file beside a video on a TV’s own storage, a USB drive or a cloud drive is not picked up yet.
- No NFS or FTP. Files come over SMB or WebDAV, from Dropbox or Box, or from a folder on the device.
- Downloads on phones and tablets only, and no casting from the Android TV app. An Android phone or tablet, an iPhone or an iPad can download to watch offline from a source whose videos come over the network as one file or an HLS playlist, such as your own Jellyfin, Emby or Plex server or WebDAV folder; a live stream, an SMB share and a folder on the device play from their source, and the Android TV app does not cast to another screen.
- Films and TV series only, from a server. From Plex, Jellyfin and Emby, only film and TV series libraries appear: music, photos and the server’s live TV do not.
What Yonto Player does not do lists the rest.
Try it on your own files
Section titled “Try it on your own files”Yonto Player is free with one source, so you can try it on your own library before paying anything. Try a few of your harder files, not only the easy ones: what plays depends on your device as well as on Yonto Player.
Yonto Player provides no content. Infuse, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Dropbox, Box, Dolby and DTS are trademarks of their owners, and Yonto Player is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
